Do you offer special rates for certain projects?
We consider preferential rates for educational projects, initiatives supporting young composers, and projects with particular artistic significance or substantial media exposure. Please contact us to discuss your project.
Can I bring my own conductor or conduct my own music?
Yes. We welcome guest conductors and are open to composers conducting their own work. Conducting an orchestral recording requires substantial experience; when a composer conducts, a BSO recording producer will supervise the session and support the recording process.
Can I change the ensemble shortly before the recording?
Small changes may be possible, subject to availability. Reductions in the number of musicians made less than 48 hours before the session may incur cancellation charges.
Can I request overtime?
Yes, subject to the availability of the musicians and studio. We recommend arranging overtime in advance, as availability cannot be guaranteed at short notice.
What rights do I receive to the recording?
The BSO grants a full transfer of recording rights for an unlimited period, as set out in the recording agreement.
