The soundtrack industry has its sights set on the Slovak capital following the completion of one of the most ambitious productions in modern fiction. The music for the second season of One Piece, Netflix's hit live-action adaptation, has concluded, cementing a project that redefines sonic quality standards for global streaming.
The sessions, which took place during the summer of 2025, served to materialize the complex musical architecture of composers Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli. The performance was carried out by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, under the experienced baton of maestro David Hernando Rico.
An Unprecedented Technical Deployment
What sets this production apart is its radical commitment to detail and acoustic fidelity. The artistic team dedicated more than 50 hours of effective recording time in the studio, a record duration that allowed for the meticulous crafting of every dramatic nuance within the score.
To achieve a cinematic-scale sound and absolute clarity in the final mix, the recording was conducted using the striping method (recording by sections), which facilitates the soundtrack's post-production:
Strings Section: Recorded independently to achieve deep, organic textures and crystalline definition.
Brass and Woodwinds: Sessions dedicated exclusively to these sections to project the heroic power and brightness required for the action themes, without compromising the overall sonic balance of the ensemble.
Leadership and Artistic Vision
The direction of David Hernando Rico was the determining factor in coordinating this block-by-block recording methodology, ensuring the Bratislava Symphony responded with virtuosity to the narrative demands of Belousova and Ostinelli. This approach guarantees that, in this 2026, viewers will enjoy a world-class immersive audio experience.
With the conclusion of these sessions that began in the summer of 2025, the production ensures an impeccable technical finish, positioning the One Piece soundtrack as one of the fundamental pillars of the series' success upon its return to screens.
The One Piece soundtrack will be available on major streaming platforms to coincide with the premiere of the series on Netflix during 2026.
